    ELIGIBILITY: Minimum of 18 years & Above


    The hospitality industry is a broad category of fields within service industry that includes lodging, event-planning, theme-parks, transportation, cruise-line, additional fields within the tourism industry. The service industry is a multi-billion-dollar industry that depends on the availability of leisure time and disposable income. A service unit such as a restaurant, hotel, or an amusement park consists of multiple groups such as facility maintenance and direct operations (servers, housekeepers, porters, kitchen workers, bartenders, management, marketing, and human resources etc.).

    Course Objective: 

    To skill, train & empower students in the Housekeeping Dept. (Hospitality Industry) to meet industry requirements of International Standards


    Plan, direct, or coordinate activities of an organization or department that serves guests through hygiene, cleanliness, and most importantly ensuring the guest has a memorable experience in the hotel by keeping the entire Hotel clean and dust free

    What does this course involve?

    • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas so that health standards are met
    • Dust and polish furniture and equipment
    • Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas
    • Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
    • Replenish supplies, such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items
    • Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts
    • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners and shampooers
    • Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary
    • Disinfect equipment and supplies, using germicides or steam-operated sterilizers
    • Sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors, using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines
    • Hang draperies and dust window blinds
    • Observe precautions required to protect hotel and guest property and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors
    • Move and arrange furniture and turn mattresses
    • Replace light bulbs
    • Request repair services and wait for repair workers to arrive
    • Sort, count, and mark clean linens and store them in linen closets
    • Prepare rooms for meetings and arrange decorations, media equipment, and furniture for social or business functions
    • Sort clothing and other articles, load washing machines, and iron and fold dried items
    • Polish silver accessories and metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings
    • Deliver television sets, ironing boards, baby cribs, and rollaway beds to guests’ rooms
    • Assign duties to other staff and give instructions regarding work methods and routines
    • Wash dishes and clean kitchens, cooking utensils, and silverware
    • Remove debris from driveways, garages, and swimming pool areas
    • Purchase or order groceries and household supplies to keep kitchens stocked and record expenditures
    • Run errands, such as taking laundry to the cleaners and buying groceries
    • Answer telephones and doorbells
    • Plan menus and cook and serve meals and refreshments following employer’s instructions or own methods
    • Care for children or elderly persons by overseeing their activities, providing companionship, and assisting them with dressing, bathing, eating, and other needs


    What will I achieve by the end of the course?

    • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work – Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work
    • Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards – Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards
    • Documenting/Recording Information – Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form
    • Guiding, Directing, and Motivating Subordinates – Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance
    • Assisting and Caring for Others – Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients
    • Communicating with Persons outside Organization – Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail
    • Coordinating the Work and Activities of Others – Getting members of a group to work together to accomplish tasks
    • Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings – Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems
